So with me being pretty much out of the game for the past 3 months with an injury of some sort with my right foot, it is with great pleasure that I can tell you that I’ve started running again. My foot doesn’t seem fully recovered, but as I realised a month ago, a short run doesn’t seem to do it any harm. So after a couple of very short test runs, today I pushed the boat out and did 2.5 miles. Now I know this sounds very short. But if you’ve been reading my previous blogs, you’ll realise that this is quite a distance considering I thought I’d broken my foot 3 months back.
This run was done in my bare shoes – the ground is too cold to run barefoot. Besides I need to work on getting my feet and legs used to the running again before I go barefoot again I reckon.
I’ve never been one for making New Year’s Resolutions, but if I have any this year, it is to nail this barefoot running malarky. Let’s see how I get on.
